With effort, passion, and intuition, José Tomás Carrillo saw a heritage that deserved to be revived. With the decline of Venezuelan coffee, the farm fell into oblivion: overgrown with weeds and silenced by neglect, José Tomás began to rescue Agua Fría, tree by tree and cherry by cherry. His goal was not only to cultivate coffee, but to give Venezuela back its voice in the world of specialty coffee.

Located at 1200 meters above sea level, Agua Fría enjoys a unique microclimate: cool, humid, and constant. An ideal environment for slow ripening that allows for the development of deep and complex sensory profiles. José Tomás Carrillo began experimenting with varieties such as Pink Bourbon and Tabi, and also adopted processes like anaerobic washing, uncommon in the region, but essential to the terroir.
