Where does it come from?
Achiote, also known as annatto, comes from the seeds of the Bixa orellana tree, grown in tropical regions of Latin America, especially Mexico and Central America. It is a fundamental ingredient in traditional Yucatecan and Caribbean cuisine, used both for its intense red color and its mild earthy, slightly sweet flavor
